TOEIC LESSON
I’m trying to decide which type of computer I want to buy. Laptops aren’t quite as fast as desktops for the money, but at least they are portable. I travel a lot for work so I guess I’ll buy a laptop since portability is quite important to me.
For the money: This expression means “for the same amount of money”. It refers to good value
- I don’t want to go to that restaurant. I know the food is good but it’s not good for the money. (ie. not a good deal)
- You should by the same phone I have. It’s really good for the money.
Portable: mobile, able to move easily from one place to another
- If my stereo speakers were portable, I’d bring them to your house for the party.
- I’m moving to Tokyo next week. You can have anything in my house that isn’t easily portable.
